Chapter 4
Local-Area Networks
Properly configured, your Mac can be a good neighbor on a local network in your office or school. Maybe you're in a Mac-based office and it becomes necessary to run a Windows machine on the network. Or, more commonly, you're fighting to hold on to your Mac in a workplace where the information systems department is clamoring for Windows conformity. We talk about how Mac, Windows, and UNIX servers can support file sharing, backups, printing, and other features among multiple platforms.
